The most common cause of bad breath is bacteria and is most noticeable when you wake up in the morning. Because you've been sleeping all night, this has given time for the bacteria to build up in your mouth so that when you first wake up and take that first open mouthed breath, well it can bowl not just your partner over, but you as well.
Morning breath is something that we all deal with and that is easily corrected by brushing your teeth and using a mouth wash. But what about if half-way through the morning the it suddenly appears again making those around you want to run for cover?
Well, there are different things that can cause this, sometimes it is just that you had lunch at an Italian restaurant and you ate food filled with onions and garlic. It might be that you decided to have a cigarette afterward, or even a glass of wine, all of which can lead to halitosis.
One of the main reasons that people suffer from bad breath is that there are food particles left in the mouth that bacteria that are in your mouth naturally, are feeding on. This can happen more often when you don't brush your teeth properly and or when you use certain oral hygiene products.
Some ways to combat bad breath are getting and using a good toothbrush that will get in between your teeth, and then also flossing regularly. In addition, many people ignore the back of their teeth and the teeth at the back of their mouth thus allowing food particles to stay trapped and the little bacteria are allowed to continue to have a feast in your mouth.
Brushing after you eat, although you do want to be careful about overdoing this because you can wear away at your enamel if you get too industrious with it, can really help.
Another thing that can really help is choosing dental hygiene products that have baking soda and hydrogen peroxide as their main ingredients. Both products can help to curb bad breath, and make you feel more confident when you have to get up close and personal with others.
A final and very important thing is to go the dentist at least twice a year and have your teeth checked. Remember your dentist can see things you can't and may be able to discover other reasons as well as cures for your bad breath.
