ibu ke barat menjadi purnama, ayah ke timur menjadi mentari
kemudian mereka bersinar menerangi setiap langkahku
silih berganti, selamanya, selalu

NOTE:
======
Kady came up with this great idea of having friendly poetic duel between her and I which is then called "The Celebration of Indonesia." I thought this would be so much fun so I agreed with her immediately. ^_^
The goal is to translate each other's Indonesian poems to English as accurate as possible. "Purnama Dan Mentari" is the title of my Indonesian poem for her.
Here are the terms:
Terms of agreement between Kady and Harry:
==================================
1. We both write an Indonesian poem and translate it to English
2. The poem should be just one stanza, no more than 4 lines.
3. No time limit. We submit our English translation whenever we are ready.
4. Winner is the one who translates the closest to the meaning or the message that we try to convey.
5. We rate each other by commenting and use percent as the measurement.
6. Most of all. Have a fun translating! :-D
To those who want to know Kady's response and my rating of her translation, please check out Kady Burney's CP page more often.
Also, you can read her article Harry Gunawan and Kady Burney's Friendly Poetic Duel to know more about it.
Thank you all my CP friends. :-)
Cheers,
Harry
