The Chain

Jill Davidson
I am bound up by this chain;
Addiction is its name.
It hinders me from being
All the things that I could be.
Precious Lord, please hear my cry,
And set this captive free.
I need your strength
To break this chain
So I may live for Thee.

    i really like your rhyming scheme. a lot of people write poems and they want to have exact rhymes so they force it, and it just comes out sound really awkward. yours is much more flowy, and natural... and nice : )

    Thanks, Kat. Poetry doesn't have to be long, flowing and flowery to have impact.

    Hey lady! How are you?
    You write little poems same as I do and I thought mine were too short to be an actual poem, so I see that I am right where I need to be with my poetry~ just writing what flows out naturally! Thanks and I do like the addiction poem!
    Kat, smiling..
