The hotel has only 70 guestrooms and suites, and the entire hotel is full of lovely antiques. You won't be disappointed in the upgrades that were made in 2009. The hotel went through quite an extensive remodel including the addition of private bathrooms and central air conditioning. Wireless inter-net is also available. What you will not find at the Chalfonte are television sets, radios, clocks or telephones. The time you spend at this hotel will be relaxed and rewarding. The hotel also does not have a parking lot, there is street parking only. It may take a few minutes to find a parking space, but it will be well worth the effort.
The Chalfonte Hotel is often referred to as the 'Grand Dame by the Sea' and it covers an entire block of prime real estate in Cape May . With the close proximity to the ocean two blocks away, guest room doors are louvered to allow the soft ocean breezes to sweep through.
When you have worked up an appetite from your day in Cape May, you can enjoy dinner at the Magnolia Room in the hotel, reservations are recommended. Post a CommentThe Chalfont is magnificent. I've seen it several times, never been inside, but the pics on the website are breathtaking. I will be in Cape May April 1-3, but not, alas, at the Chalfont.
Ahhhhh...sounds nice, but still good to know WiFi Internet is available.
Cape May is a beautiful place for sure. The Victorian architecture is amazing.
I like the idea of no television, no radios and no telephones. Of course, people are going to bring their cell phones with them.
I'm ready!
Giving you PV.
