The Challenge: Cutthroat Episode Recap from October 13, 2010

MTV sent 30 contestants to Prague, Czech Republic for the newest season of the Real World / Road Rules Challenge: Cutthroat - After last week's premiere episode, we are down to 28. Read on to find out what happened tonight.

Coupling Up: Abram and Cara Maria like each other, that's obvious. But the real rumors start spreading as Laurel started teasing Mandi and Chet who are starting to get closer. Laurel said she's just trying to cause trouble, but really I don't see how what she's doing is helpful to her at all.

Hanging Out: Tonight's challenge had the teams hanging upside down on ropes and swinging to each other to pass some beer steins down the line. Since Grey won last week, they got to pick the order and put Red, then Blue before them. Red sat out Camila and Mandi. The red team got their first stein placed in about 6 mins but didn't manage to get anymore before 15 minute time limit was out.

Blue had to use all their players because they were down to only 8, but during strategy talks no one seemed to be listening to anyone else. While Blue was up, Grey didn't want to watch them because they thought they should instead spend time working on their strategy. Blue was using two hands by putting the steins in their mouth which helped them to get all 4 steins placed in the time limit.

Grey sat out Shauvon and Abram, who wanted to coach from the sidelines. Everyone on all teams thought Abram as crazy to sit out since he's one of the strongest on their team. Grey started off their plan and realized it was not going to work. While their strategy was falling apart, Abram sat on the sideline coaching, or actually yelling, and didn't seem to be helping much. With only 2 minutes left, Grey had no steins placed and they were just swinging around with no real plan. That makes 0 placed for the Grey team! Some strategy. Blue won the challenge showing that losing 2 players didn't hurt them that much.

Voting Time: While Blue celebrated their win with a good meal, Red and Grey had to secretly vote their teammates into the Gulog. Camila and Mandi were sure they'd get put in just because they were newbies, even though they didn't participate in the challenge. Brad told Mandi they wanted to have a "don't ask, don't tell" strategy. For Grey, Abram volunteered himself because he felt like he screwed it up for his team, but other names were called out like JD and Cara Maria.

After the secret ballot the nominees were - Grey: Cara Maria and JD, Red: Mandi and Brandon.

Mandi confronted Chet about whether or not he voted for her because she thought there was no way she would go in. Well he did vote for her, to prove loyalty to his team, but denied it when questioned.

The Gulog - Back up off me: Connected back to back, this game of tug of war had the players trying to pull each other in the opposite direction. They'd have to do it twice in order to win. JD vs Brandon: Brandon has more weight on him but JD thought he had more fight. However at the start Brandon just dragged JD to his end point and completed quickly and easily. On the second try, JD gave a little fight, but again Brandon seemed to have little trouble getting to the end. JD from the Grey team was eliminated tonight.

For the two girls, this looked like more of a fair fight as far as size was concerned. However when it came to strength Cara Maria took Mandi and dragged her to the end. On the second round, Mandi was really fighting to make it hard for Cara Maria to drag her as her team yelled for her not to give up. No matter how hard she tried, Cara Maria was the obvious winner in this one and made it to the end to score her second point. Mandi from the Red team was eliminated tonight.

Back to the Couples: Abram and Cara Maria started hooking up again, while the other contestants tried to listen in and laughed about it the whole time. But that was about the most exciting thing this episode.

Next week: Things look like they are going to get more exciting as more enemies are being made. Plus, the challenge is going to cause someone to break down! Tune in next Wednesday!
