The Challenge: Cutthroat Premiere Recap from October 6, 2010

MTV sent 30 contestants to Prague, Czech Republic for the newest season of the Real World / Road Rules Challenge: Cutthroat - which happens to be the same location Tom Cruise is currently filming Mission Impossible 4. But not at the same time they were there :) What twists and turns did this season bring? Read on to find out!

Let's start it right off with a twist: After making their way to the challenge, the people who made it there first thought they would be the ones to pick the teams tonight. However, TJ Lavin, the host, through them for a loop by saying that the SLOWEST three would be picking the teams! This meant Emily, Shauvon and Camila would be team captains! The three teams became:

Camila's Team (Red): Dunbar, Tori, Brad, Paula, Tyler, Melinda, Chet, Mandi and Brandon

Shauvon's Team (Grey): Vinny, Laurel, Abram, Sarah, Dan, Ayiiia, Luke, Cara and JD

Emilee's Team (Blue): Johnny, Jenn, Derrick, Emily, Ty, Theresa, Derek, Katie and Eric (Big Easy)

The Prizes: One team will win each challenge and bank $20k, but the only way to take home the cash will be to make it to the very last challenge. Adding in prizes, TJ announced it would be over a half a million in cash in prizes. The two losing teams each week will send one guy and girl into the "Gulag" battle arena with one of each going home.

Get the Party Started: The newly formed teams began to bond by painting faces and, of course, drinking. But nothing too major happened on this first party night.

The First Challenge: A five layer puzzle that had to be put together, but first they had to open locked boxes to get all the diagrams they needed first. Ayiiia, who has asthma, wasn't allowed to do part of the challenge which involved running into a gas chamber so one of the Grey girls would have to do it twice. The first players in all had trouble with the gas, except Dunbar who looked incredibly calm. Each clue took two people to solve as they had to look at different sides of the board. Red was the first team to get a box open putting them ahead of the other teams by at least a few minutes. Eventually the other teams seemed to catch up and all had 2 boxes open around the same time. Tyler (Red) looked like he was ready to pass out when it was his term in the gas chamber but Paula took charge and got it done for her team.

Dan (Grey) also couldn't handle it because it reminded him of doing it in the military. This challenge looks like no fun at all! Red got started on their puzzle first after getting all the boxes unlocked - but there was no real teamwork going on so Blue and Grey caught up before the Red team got anywhere. Abram took the lead for Grey while the other two teams continued to fight. With a ponytail holder in his hair, he looked funny, but Abram's leadership had Grey way ahead of the other teams.

Nominations: TJ announced this season would be a private ballot - like Survivor! This means that players didn't have to deal with being manipulated in the group and could really nominate who they wanted to. TJ revealed all the people who got votes (but not how many) before telling who was going to Gulog. This was a great way to get people thinking, and cause some drama, as people will sit around wondering who voted for them. After all the private votes down in the dungeon, the nominations were Red: Camila and Brandon and Blue: Derek and Emilee. Jenn explained it was all about them being rookies - they have to earn their stay.

The First Big Fight: After making it 40 minutes with no real fighting, Theresa and Camila got into a huge fight about some missing pants. Theresa seemed to regard it as a joke and said it was a way to get into Camila's head, and it seemed to be working as Camila was getting very angry over the accusation that she stole someone's pants. A stupid thing to fight about - but that's the type of thing these challengers always fight about. Veteran Tori took Camila aside to make her feel better and tell her that she's going to learn this is how these people are if she wants to stay here.

The Gulog - Handcuffs: Each player had to hold on to two rings and fight for them. The first player to get five rings away from their opponent would win. Brandon and Derek were throwing each other all over the place in this very physical challenge with neither one showing signs of breaking. Brandon got the first two rings but Derek wasn't ready to quit just yet. On the second round, Brandon seemed to have a better strategy and got 2 more in no time. He only needed one to win, and had enough adrenaline now to throw Derek on the ground and get the 5th ring. Derek (Blue) was the first man eliminated.

Now for the girls: Emilee and Camilla are both newbies to the challenge so no one knew how well they would do. Camilla used every part of her body to twist and pull two rings away from Emilee. In the second round, Emilee managed to get one but Camilla was still ahead 3 to 1. Camilla got both rings in the third round, even though Emilee held on as hard as she could. Emilee (Blue) was the first woman eliminated

Next week: Blue is down two players which could be bad, unless those two players were dragging them down. Will Grey keep winning due to their teamwork? Or will one of the other teams pull it together? Find out next Wednesday on MTV!
