The Challenging Attitude of the Addicted

What is it about life I just don't seem to comprehend?
It's as if all the glory and awe doesn't come 'till it ends.
I do wrong things that allow me to temporarily pretend.
Then I justify this by believing I am owed a defense.
One day I will wake up with the power to make up
For unjustly rectifying things I don't truly want.
'Till then watch closely, for what I seem like even remotely
Will infect every dream with memories that truly haunt.
