Step away and count to ten.
Close your eyes and let it out,
Turn around again.
There he is up in your face,
The child you could never hate.
But when will he learn to listen?
How long will you have to wait?
Every day brings out a new fight,
And leaves you worn and stressed.
Each day you are ready to quit,
Without the energy to get dressed.
But after a day of screaming,
All the fits and fights.
Bedtime comes and you see,
You made it to the night!
Here comes that wonderful time,
To put him in the bed.
Then suddenly you heart melts,
Once you hear what he said.
There he is up in your face,
Without a fuss or fight.
All his kisses and his hugs,
"I love you mommy! Good night."
Then comes that time for us to see,
We need to listen too!
No matter all the wrongs they've done,
Your babies love you.
Don't lose your temper, yell or hit.
Practice what you preach.
Remember that our children learn,
What Mom and Daddy teach!
