The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority offers one of the cheapest ways to get around Orlando, Florida. Their bus system is comprehensive, punctual and very reasonably priced. You will have no problem getting around Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties using the LYNX transportation system. Prices, of course, vary depending on how far you wish to travel, but most destinations only cost a couple dollars. You can travel to and from the Walt Disney World resorts and theme parks and visit Orlando's greatest shopping plazas, including the Mall at Millenia, the Florida Mall and the Altamonte Mall. You can also ride to and from Universal Studios, the Orlando International Airport, and the University of Central Florida. The LYNX web site, found at golynx.com, features detailed maps and schedules, contact information, breaking news and route changes. The buses in the LYNX system are generally comfortable and air conditioned, and most drivers are friendly and knowledgeable.
Another of the cheapest (and most comfortable) ways to get around Orlando, Florida is the Mears Transportation Group. Mears offers great ways to plan ahead to make your Orlando vacation seamless and less stressful. Mears Transportation Group offers affordable shuttle services, taxi services, charter services, even luxury sedans. Many visitors to Orlando use the Mears Transportation Group to shuttle to and from the Orlando International Airport. Mears takes guests right to their Walt Disney World resort and picks them up and returns them to the airport for their return trip. You can also travel with Mears between the Walt Disney World resorts and attractions and the Universal Studios resorts and attractions. Of course, one of the cheapest ways to get around Orlando, Florida is to travel for free. And you can do that inside the Walt Disney World resort area. Disney transportation is provided at no cost and their buses, ferries and monorails can carry you between the Walt Disney World hotels and theme parks and attractions. In fact, if you are staying at a Walt Disney World hotel, there is really no need to rent a vehicle at all. Simply take the Disney bus or monorail to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Hollywood Studios or the Animal Kingdom. You can also travel to other Disney World hotels and to the Disney water parks and Downtown Disney. The staff is made up of Disney "cast members," who are always friendly and knowledgeable.
