The Cheyenne Civic Center Featured Bryan Adams Going "Bare Bones" with His Acoustic Guitar

Cheyenne, Wyoming: Bryan Adams brought his Bare Bones tour to Wyoming's capital city at the Cheyenne Civic Center Friday night. For about two hours, the iconic pop rock music star received lots of cheers and positive comments from the audience of 1,100-plus fans, as he performed many of his biggest hits on acoustic guitar, backed up only by a piano player Gary Breit for many of his selections. Disclosure: I've been an usher for the Cheyenne Civic Center since the 2004-05 season. But what I write are my own observations.

Bryan Adams Warmed the Cheyenne Civic Center Audience on a Chilly Autumn Evening via His Bare Bones Tour Selections and Interactions

It was a very good evening to gather indoors to listen to some great acoustic music, as the temperature outside was downright chilly. From the very start, Adams held the audience in his grasp as he opened with "Run to You" in which the audience clapped and stomped their feet. The crowd got active for a number of his other songs, singing along to such tunes as "Somebody", "Summer of '69", and "Straight from the Heart." The Canadian sang a total of 26 songs. Adams' harmonica play even managed to get some performance time through such tunes like "Straight from the Heart."

After singing "Somebody", his 21st song, he motioned the people to crowd up at the front of the Cheyenne Civic Center orchestra seating area, where the several front rows took on the appearance of an intimate outdoor concert. Earlier, he motioned two women in the balcony to come down and sit in two unoccupied front seats. When they got to them, he asked them if they had found any guys. When one woman yelled out that she loved Bryan Adams, he quickly replied, "Still?" Such good-natured banter back and forth with the audience kept them in a festive mood all night, especially as he did a country singer impression while singing "Please Forgive Me."

The Bryan Adams Bare Bones Tour Stop at the Cheyenne Civic Center Included Reminiscing about His Early Days

This Bare Bones appearance seemed to feel really right for Bryan Adams, too, as he told the crowd he would perform "an obscure song" for them called "The Right Place" because he felt like he was in the right place, performing in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Earlier, he talked about his early years when he opened for groups like Foreigner, The Kinks, and Journey, telling the crowd that people reminded him so much of his opening for Journey that "I should've joined that band." Before he sang "Summer of '69", he told the fans that a Spanish journalist misinterpreted the lyrics of the song, asking the pop star about when "I got my first real sex cream."

The acoustic work and live singing of Bryan Adams emanated a really crisp sound in the auditorium. The artist sounds just as good, if not better, than what's heard on his studio cuts appearing on the radio. The rocker also sang "This Time", "Do I Have to Say the Words?", "Can't Stop This Thing We Started", "Heat of the Night", "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" and more for the crowd in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Wow! It's nice to know that he is so down to Earth, and chats with the crowd. I have always enjoyed his music, and now I have another reason to like him even more.
