would be the gift of a lifetime.
Just to look on you and see your lips, your eyes.
And to feel the warmth of your hands in my hands,
upon my skin would comfort me this night and all nights.
To believe that this is love and that it will never end.
To fix my heart upon you,
to yield to nothing else because
there is nothing but the magic of you and me.
To crave your closeness,
that permanent fixture.
To inhale your sweet breath,
to be that air you inhale
when you pause between your words.
To choose to belong with you
and carry you
in my hands,
in my mind,
in my heart.
Is that a choice at all?
How you have married your mind to my mind.
How you have cradled me
and seen the worst of me.
How you have sweetly helped carry us on.
And I have wondered,
What is this choice I have to make?
To stay for now
Or forever more.
What choice is this to make?
To be with you a moment or for eternity.
I see just one option, my love.
I choose forever more.
