The Christian Advantage in Business

How Values and Principles Help Business

AC FITNESS BOY
While business is usually cutthroat and hard, there are some Christian-based businesses that operate on Christian principles. I work at a daycare that is Christian, and they charge good prices for quality daycare.

It's nice to know that some businesses aren't totally corrupt even though sometimes it seems everyone is shady. I used to work at JC Penney in the furniture department, but I became disillusioned when I got in trouble because some old guy I worked with was yelling at me. I was being abused and all they wanted was me to sell more of their ugly furniture. It seemed shady. And everyone in retail swears like a sailor.

Christian principles like working hard and being honest are good for business. People used to like doing business in America because of these values. But with problems with truthfulness like at Enron, and shady home loans more recently, Christian values seem to be needed more than ever.

The Bible tells you if you make money, or get more Talents, a measure of gold, you will get more money. But it tells you that you are a servant to your master. Not money. We need to have faith in the Bible. That working for our master with all our might will bring reward. So often we do as little as possible and wonder why we aren't doing well.

I always wanted to be a writer. And have a chance to write on Associated Content. Now I could moan that I only get a little money, or work harder and make more. I have a book of poetry coming out from PublishAmerica.com and I hope you will check it out.

I value Christ for what he has done in my life and I want to honor his life through my work. I like working at the Christian day care Rainbow Day Child Care Academy because I am living a Christian life. I might even be able to be a director there some day.

I think it is satisfying to know my life has an impact on young Christians. And even if that's all I ever do, it will be enough. So even though I don't make a lot now, I have faith that by working hard, I can earn more and do better. Sometimes it doesn't seem fair, but I know that life isn't always fair. But that doesn't mean your business won't do better if you have Christian values.

More businesses make a name for themselves by being "green" than they seem to do by being Christian.
