The Christian Call

With Easter Almost Here

Charlotte Kuchinsky

You break a heart with no regret.
You don't worry and you don't fret.
All you care for is your own need.
As for the rest, you'd see us bleed.

You shatter dreams into the dust.
It seems almost as if you must.
You kick and punch while we are down
And push us in to watch us drown.

You have made yourself the sole judge
Though you've no cause to hold a grudge.
How can you choose this way to be?
So storm tossed on a raging sea?

You've lost your heart; your soul is black.
You've gone too far to now turn back.
I pity you and so I'll pray
For you now on your judgment day.

I'll plead your case and tears I'll shed
For the life of sin you have led.
You had so much but little gave
And still your soul I wish to save.

I'll offer my own heart's desire
To quench the thirst of burning fire.
My life's loss won't be in vain
If it eases all of your pain.

If it can make you finally see
There's more to life than you and me.
It's about how we choose to live
And the gifts we're willing to give.

This I learned by illustration;
One life given for a nation.
A single death to save us all
There is no greater Christian call.
