The Christmas Celebration Continues Despite Hard Times

How About You?

There is a Filipino Christmas carol that says, "Tuloy pa rin ang Pasko" (Christmas continues...)

This year's Christmas celebration is going to be the poorest probably since the past years because it is the global economy that has been affected. But despite that, we cannot help people from buying gifts and celebratig the spirit of the season.

I think it is not merely materialism, but also keeping the human spirit alive. If we let ourselves be drowned out by the circumstances around us and we do not know how to celebrate with what we have, then the entire human race will just be dragged down in a gigantic mire pit.

In this season, I think it is admirable to find joy even in the direst circumstance and still to be thankful with whatever we have--either family, friends, job, or even just our complete bodies, because there are hundreds of thousands of people who don't.

And I think what is most important is to remember that all these things around us, even our circumstances are only temporary. Whether in abundance or in lack, all these are temporary. Eventually, we will all leave this earth on our appointed time and those who hope in the Lord can look forward to a better future in the life after.

*A MESSAGE OF HOPE*
