The Christmas Sweater by Glenn Beck: A Book Review

Bubba
There is a rotund, bald elder-statesman in my life that occasionally orders me to do something. This week Paul's voice boomed as he told me about the next book I was going to read. The look in his eyes told me this was more than a suggestion. The book is a novel. "The Christmas Sweater" by Glenn Beck. "The Christmas Sweater" was published in 2008, perhaps you too will be inspired...maybe even a bit of Christmas Spirit in June or July this year. "The Christmas Sweater" is available @ Barns & Nobel, Amazon, E-Bay, and your local library.

You might ask why I would read a Christmas book in the middle of Summer. First because Paul told me I should. Second the author is a respected writer that belongs to the same fellowship as I do. Third according to Paul there is no better time than the present to be inspired. If you could change your life by reversing your biggest regrets, sorrows, mistakes, and bad decisions...would you wait till Christmas? Fourth Mr Glenn Beck's dedication to the "Christmas Sweater" was "For my children Mary, Hannah, Raphe, ans Cheyenne. Always remember where we came from, how we got here, and Who led us into the warmth of the sunshine."

The Author Richard Paul Evens writes about "The Christmas Sweater" "Like the sweater that stars in this new holiday treat. Beck's story will keep you warm even after you have closed the book. Reminiscent of Mitch Albom's "The Five People You Meet In Heave,"this is the best kind of gift-the kind you treasure long after the holiday has passed." Personally I don't care if you don't believe in Christmas. Read this story and learn about spiritual growth.

Glenn Beck spins a tale of a young boy who apparently has lost everything including both parents. This young boy in growing up quickly but filled with anger, regrets, and a need for love. "The Christmas Sweater" does have a bit of a twist at the end of the story. I won't ruin it for you but remember there are Christmas Miracles in everyone's life.

I have a habit of re-reading a book 2-3 times if I want to retain it's message. Today I have begun my third reading and the book almost looks like a coloring book with all my highlighting. The story is a cute one but the message is life changing....even for a big one legged man with an attitude of gratitude... Mizpah ;-}}>

I may only be 14, and may not look like I'm into politics, but this book is THE best book I ever read. I actually didn' put the book down! I read it for 3 straight hours. The book was inspirational and had a great funny, but sad message in it. Great review by the way :).

Great book review! :-) Another heart warming book is " Skipping Christmas " by John Grisham. I bet you would like this book, also. Thanks!
