The Christmas Wish - a Christmas Poem

C.D. Crowder
The lights are low, the world outside aglow

As snow falls softly in the cover of night

Stars shine bright, even through the snow

Inviting one and all to share their wishes

A small girl stands framed in a window

Stands in wonder at the scene outside

The lights of her Christmas tree illuminate her face

Her eyes twinkling with the blinking lights

She waits and wishes for Santa to appear

So she can speak to him and tell him her fears

She's seen the world isn't always perfect

So many without a tree, without a home

She wishes for all to be warm this night

On Christmas Eve, to have love and light

For all her gifts to go to one in need

For all children to be as joyous as she

May Santa come and bring peace this night

May Jesus look down and miracles abound

This Christmas Eve and all year long

May the pain of the world's heart finally heal
