The Church is for the Sick

Amanda Kidd
The Word says, "Jesus came to heal the sick," and He wasn't speaking figuratively. He meant physically, mentally, and the sick souls of sinners. The word sick, in its distinctiveness, means unwell, ill, nauseous, bilious, weary, fed up, morbid, and perverted. The congregation may be hosting the most inhuman individuals, but the Word promises that Jesus can heal them. I read a passage in the Bible that said, "Expel the immoral brother from among you." Another one said, "What does good have in common with evil?" And then I saw, "Bad company corrupts good character," but I meditated on, "All have fallen short of the glory." Did you read, "Do not think to highly of yourselves and don't hesitate to associate with those of low standards?" This too is in the Bible. One might claim that these scriptures are ambiguous or contradictory. So, shall the church expel or welcome any sinner? Jesus answered my question, because I also read, "He who is without sin cast the first stone." I believe religious leaders must welcome perverts, pimps and their prostitutes, drug addicts and the dealers inside the church. The congregation may feel unease to know that they're sharing the bench with pedophiles, but we cannot judge anyone's sick deeds neither can we judge them to hell. After all, the church is for the sick! I've encountered Christians who were expelled from church because of their lifestyles or demonic spirits within.

I ask today's Christians, did Jesus expel you from his patience, compassion, forgiveness, and salvation? Maybe your sins weren't pandemic news and your dirty secrets are safe, but why do we persecute others when I believe I read that "all of our righteousness is like filthy rags?" Maybe you're delivered, maybe you're healed, maybe you're saved, or maybe you're a mess in progress. We all started by believing, repenting, and asking the precious Lord for mercy on our souls. How can sinners come to Jesus when the church excommunicates them? Surely the church is the body of Christ, not a building. Church, in Greek is ekklesia and it means called out ones, and Christ is the head of the church. Do preachers get a permission slip to expel members? The church is universal Christians that should be praying and agreeing that God delivers all sinners. How can Christians testify to the ungodly if they refuse to congregate with them? When the church excommunicates members, you have judged them to hell. This infers that God cannot save them, when the Sovereign Lord can save the devil himself if he wanted deliverance. There isn't a Godly, biblical reason for this carnal action unless they are causing unlawful, detrimental, and distressing situations in the church. And even if this is so, the Apostle Paul preached inside the prison walls. As God's chosen, we are Godly warriors and must lead the sick to the saints because we have been called to preach and spread the gospel, from the projects to the prisons, the rich and the poor, because all were sick and all deserve a chance to be healed, hallelujah.
