"The City" on MTV: Episode 6 Recap

Guess what Olivia wore to the Elle Magazine Guess party? Well, I don't remember actually, so I can't answer that, but I can tell you one thing, it wasn't a Guess design. This girl clearly thinks she can ride the coattails of who she knows rather than relying on class, respect, and some good old fashioned know- how in her chosen professional field. But that's okay, from the look of it, Joe Zee (Creative Director of Elle Magazine) and Erin (Olivia's co-worker) are fed-up with the antics; by the end of the episode Erin is shown interviewing a possible replacement for Olivia on the sly.

"The City" on MTV: Guess What Olivia Wore To the Elle Magazine "Guess" Party?

Even though Erin made Olivia fully aware that she needed to purchase a Guess outfit for the Elle Magazine Guess party, Olivia still didn't listen and showed up to the event in an outfit by another designer. The Guess representative took the time prior to the party to meet with Olivia for a fashion pull straight from the Guess showroom, and this is the thanks she got for her time and effort. What a brat. In the fashion world, this is a blatant and utter slap in the face. You could see the look of pure horror on Joe's face when he found out that Olivia showed up wearing a competing designer. On top of that huge faux pas, which did not go unnoticed by Joe, she didn't bother to do any Elle.com interviews while she was there (in case you're not up on all the ins and outs of The City, one of Olivia's job duties is to conduct interviews for Elle.com), instead she paraded in front of the paparazzi on the step and repeat.

When Joe confronted Olivia about the severity of her error, she laughed in his face. Joe, please do something about this girl.

"The City" on MTV: Erin Interviews Prospective Employee to Replace Olivia on the Sly

Thankfully, by the end of the episode Erin took matters into her own hands and scheduled an interview with a prospective successor; one clearly more qualified for the job.

Judging by the preview for next week's episode, we will get to see a bit more of Olivia's possible replacement then.

Roxy messes up again and gets on Kelly Cutrone's bad side. Kelly puts Roxy in charge of a People's Revolution project and tells her not to mention her friend and co-worker Whitney Port's new clothing line to the client, so what does she do? You guessed it. Is Roxy trying to get fired?

Whitney Gets Harsh Criticism from a Top Fashion Industry Professional

When critiqued by a favored industry professional, Whitney is told that her new clothing collection, Whitney Eve, is derivative and lacking cohesion. Crushed, Whitney turns to mentor, Kelly Cutrone, for moral support.
