The Clark Brothers were the winning band from the reality TV show, Next Great American Band. The Clark Brothers consist of Ashley Clark (vocals, fiddle guitar), Austin Clark (vocals, dobro guitar) and Adam Clark (mandolin, guitar).
The Clark Brothers grew up playing music at churches and bluegrass festivals. The story of how The Clark Brothers made it on the show is pretty cool. They heard about the show, The Next Great American Band and threw together a video performance of themselves. They decided to call themselves The Clark Brothers and literally mailed off their entry video on the very last day. None of the Clark Brothers gave it much more thought until they got a call asking them to appear on the show.
Ashley, Austin and Adam Clark decided to give up their jobs and appear on The Next Great American Band, not really knowing where it would lead.
Week after week, they delivered solid performances and finally ended up winning the whole thing and earning the title of The Next Great American Band. Still, not many people had ever heard their name much less seen The Clark Brothers perform.
That is until they appeared on a little-known show called American Idol and delivered a show-stopping performance that had the entire audience up on their feet. It's safe to say that America knows who The Clark Brothers are now.
A little known fact about The Clark Brothers is that they've actually played with some of the biggest names in country music before. Ashley Clark has played with Carrie Underwood, who is an American Idol herself. Adam Clark used to play with SHeDaisy and Austin Clark has played with both Carrie Underwood and SHeDaisy.
If you want to check out some of The Clark Brothers music then check out the official Clark Brothers MySpace page at http://myspace.com/ashleyclarkmusic. You can listen The Clark Brothers version of "This Little Light of Mine".
The Clark Brothers are currently working on demos and an album and will be touring after their album is complete. So keep an eye out for The Clark Brothers coming to a city near you!

Post a CommentAnyone else hear Jack White's vocal and guitar stylings with the Clark Brothers? That would make some stage show, the White Stripes and the Clark Bros.!
I was so excited to see that The Clark Brothers were going to be on! I was really hoping that they would sing "Gimme Shelter", I saw it on Next Great American Band and got chills (I hummed that song for a week!)... Thanks for the heads up on the link, and jcorn - thanks for the heads up on the "Gimme Shelter" video.. I just watched it again! Great article, thanks!
Excellent article! I thought they were very good.
Buddy I saw them on Idol last night and those guitars were smokinNNNNN! Loved them and they were very different. They sang "This little light of mine" who knew.
Thanks for sharing this. The MySpace page link was truly informative, revealing more about their life (one is a real estate agent, one is into Sudoku, etc) and got to hear their version of "Gimme Shelter " too :) Super article!
