The Climbing Place located in Fayetteville, NC is a great place for both the beginning and experienced rock climbers, those who climb for fun and those that climb for fitness. They are open seven days a week, from 10 am to 10 pm Monday through Saturday and from 12:30 pm to 6:30 pm on Sundays. They have special events, Tuesday nights from 7-10 pm you can climb for $7 which includes everything you need, shoes, harness and belay equipment; Friday night is family night, the cost is $10 a climber and that also includes all of your climbing equipment and also free pizza.

Their regular rates are very reasonable so if you can't make it to one of their weekly events, don't worry. For adult climbers, the first hour and a half is $7 plus the cost of your rental equipment which is $6 for the full set including shoes, harness, and belay device. If you're a new climber and will be using the belay technique you will have to take the training class which costs $5 and takes 15-20 minutes to complete but you will be issued a certification card so it is a one time process. If you wish to climb longer, you can have access for a full day for an additional $3.

You may chose to boulder, which means climbing the walls without a harness or you may use the harness, either way the staff there is very helpful and will give you tips and techniques to help you along. There are certain walls in which you may only climb to a certain height without a harness and that is because the floor below you is solid concrete. Other walls have ground up rubber beneath them, these are the walls which you may climb with or without a harness to any height.

The Climbing Place is a spacious venue, spreading 14,000 square feet, with 20,000 climbing holds, 60 top ropes, and a 1,000 square foot bouldering area. There are walls that are designed for the beginner climber, having easy access hand grips and foot holes and then there are walls that are much more difficult, even ones that force you to climb upside down.

They offer several group rates for youth groups, birthday parties, military training groups, and even scouting groups so if you're interested in that you should definitely stop by and see them at 436 W Russell Street in Fayetteville, NC. The Climbing Place also has memberships for those climbers that climb often.

If you're looking for a fun day activity The Climbing Place is a great place to visit and it is also a great location for the active, experienced climber.
