The Closer Marathon

Marathon Leads to Season Finale

Jane Vee
Monday September 13th, 2010 TNT will have "The Closer" marathon from noon until 9:00 PM. The marathon is leading up to the season finale that premiers at 9:00 PM EST. If you have missed an episode you might be able to catch it today.

The Closer has an ongoing story of who will be Chief of Police. If you have even seen one episode of The Closer, you will wonder why Brenda Johnson is even in the final selection. Assistant Police Chief Pope did not make the final cut. If you saw the episodes leading up to the final selection revelation, you know how poorly Assistant Chief Pope had been acting to his squad. Assistant Chief Brenda Johnson did not seem to care about the job. She says she does not even want it.

Brenda Johnson can get the bad guy and that is her job. She has an uncanny ability to read the clues and get the correct conclusion even when some of the pieces are missing. Can you really imagine the show with her job being changed? She makes the show. It is unimaginable for her to have another job when she is so good at the one she does. However, since her husband, a member of the FBI, is now working in collaboration with the police, why would they keep her working with him. In the real world, it is rare that a husband and wife are allowed to work so closely together. Somehow the two seem to make it work.

The Closer has a great story line in every episode and it seems to "move right along", but somehow it is not action packed. This is one of my favorite shows because it is not a reality show, it has action, you get to guess at the who and why, and above all as you watch the show you can forget about your own day and for an hour escape to someone else's.

If you have time on Monday Sept. 13, 2010 tune in to "The Closer" marathon and see what you have been missing. Remember to watch the season finale at nine. Hopefully this is not one of those cliff hangers that you have to remember what happened on this show until next season!
