The CMA Awards Were a Hit for Miranda Lambert

Rock Stars Are Found in Hollywood; Country Music Stars Are Found in Nashville

The CMA Awards, held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, is country music's biggest night. Hosted by that perfect duo Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, it was once again the most positive award show, with no drama.

The show began with Carrie Underwood singing with Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. Looking fabulous in black with red stilettos, it's hard to believe that Carrie was once that girl who stood in front of American Idol judges dressed in blue jeans.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley are loved as CMA hosts because of the way they blend. As one jokes, so does the other. For example, as Brad and Carrie looked over at Gwyneth Paltrow sitting in the audience, Brad said, "Gwyneth, I've always wanted to ask you something. Can you get me Coldplay tickets?"

We got some top performances at the Country Music Awards like Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Zac Brown Band, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, Sugarland, The Band Perry, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley , Kid Rock, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley and more.

Miranda Lambert and Sheryl Crow sung a beautiful tribute to the queen of country music, Loretta Lynn

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are the lovebirds of country music right now. Shelton popped the question back on May 9, 2010 and gave Lambert a diamond and platinum ring. "Weddings are great and engagements are great and diamonds are especially great," Lambert said.

"After the night Blake and Miranda are having I think we can expect a baby in nine months," said Brad Paisley.

But what may have been more enjoyable than watching Miranda and Blake win was the performance by Gwyneth Paltrow. Dressed in a short black dress and ankle boots, Paltrow strummed her guitar and sang with a voice stronger than we expected. Not too bad for an actress from California, and good promotion for the movie "Country Strong," where she plays a country music singer. "County Strong" is also the title song of the movie.

Finally, we got Brad Paisley as Entertainer of the Year who thanked the fans profusely. "Most amazing loyal fan base in the world," he said. Album of the Year went to the soon-to-be Mrs. Shelton, Miranda Lambert.

@Sandra - I agree with you, so I made the correction. Associated Content has been slow with corrections appearing. Hopefully, the correction is reflected.

LOL Brad thanked "the" fans not "his" fans. That was very important to him.
