The CNN Utube Debates in Wichita, Kansas - Ron Paul Grass Roots Meeting

I am an American, a Ron Paul supporter, and an AC producer. I do not work for the Ron Paul party and the following article is about the gathering that I attended with fellow Ron Paul supporters when we watched the CNN Utube debates. I do not speak for the Ron Paul party and this article is nothing more than my impressions of this meeting. I have never met Ron Paul and would never presume to speak for him or the Republican party.

I attended a gathering of Ron Paul supporters and we watched the CNN Utube debates.

A more diverse group could not have been cast unless it was on a prime time sitcom.

Our group included old, young, white, black, male, female and Hispanic. I am a believer in the don't ask don't tell policy so I can't say whether or not there was a gay among us. I am a Jew and I'm sure that Christians were represented as well.

During the debates several side bar conversations took place and I was as amazed by the diversity of opinions as I was by the diversity of the people.

Abortion was discussed. The pro-life and pro-choice sides were supported. The troops were supported and an immediate pull out was discussed. I spoke up and said I didn't support Ron Pauls immediate pull out policy. Someone implied illegal immigration was the cause of crime. Someone else said that was untrue. S-chip was discussed briefly as a few of us slipped out of the lovely suburban home to smoke.

We did all agree on a few things and I think these similarities may be why the Ron Paul supporters may truly be Americas Last Hope.

We all seemed to agree that Americas economy is on the brink of collapse. We all seemed to agree that the Federal Government needs to concern itself with Constitutional matters and leave the States business completely alone, and allow the states to compete for citizens and tax dollars. And we all agreed that we are sick and tired of Governmental things just happening to us. We all held the universal belief that as citizens we should be equal parts of the Government and we all agreed that the old way of outrageous debt, taxation without representation, and the slow erosion of our borders a civil rights are a recipe for disaster. It also seemed that we as a whole aren't near as interested in conforming and fixing the old game but creating a whole new game with Ron Paul at the helm.

An astute reader my have noticed that I didn't say Ron Paul could be Americas Last Hope, but Ron Paul Supporters. Ron Paul will be our figure head and our leader but Ron Paul supporters aka the American Citizen will be the ones to actually get things done if we are able to change the course of History by getting this man elected.

I believe with all of my heart that if Ron Paul becomes our next President it will change the course of history and the course of our Great Nation.

Some would say that a party that is as diversified as this has no hope of success. I would probably have agreed with this assessment before I attended this gathering.

I am now more of a Ron Paul supporter than ever. Because I believe that this diversification could very well be the key to Ron Paul's success. I can't imagine Ron Paul supporters being divided by any of the issues that usually alienate supporters of all of the other Candidates.

As an example, I couldn't imagine the most staunch pro choice supporter leaving the Ron Paul party because of his stance on abortion, his stand is to give the choice back to the States.

Ron Pauls entire political platform comes down to giving the power and choices back to the people, how can you be more pro choice than that.

His implication that the Government is printing money out of thin air is as obvious to me as the fact must have been to the boy who shouted to the crowd of stunned onlookers that the King had no Clothes.

As for any other questions that a citizen may have about the role of Federal Government we need only look to the Amercan Constitution.

A vote for choice is a vote for Ron Paul, and no other Candidate is offering the people that.
