The CODA - the Launch of This All-Electric Affordable Vehicle Here in the U.S

The All-Electric Coda is the First of Its Kind to Have the Official Backing of This Administration

CODA Automotive is at the apex of helping America to realize its dreams and desires to become foreign oil free and eco-friendly while still embracing their love affair with their vehicles. CODA is actively striving for a brighter more promising future by building 100% electric cars and battery transportation systems. There's a lot of media blitz currently about the revolutionary electric vehicle industry and the present Administration apparently seizing the reins and changing the direction of America's addiction to oil . The Obama Administration has given its stamp of approval for the research, development and building of electric cars in an all out effort to improve U.S. energy options and grow green (eco-friendly) jobs domestically. This Administration has set its sights on putting one million plug-in vehicles on the road by the year 2015. The Department of Energy is offering $2 billion in grants for the manufacturing of batteries and related components.

I give this present Administration kudos for taking this long over due but most welcome proclamation to change our future and those of our children, for the better.

But who is the brains behind CODA? One of Americas' own, a man by the name of Kevin Czinger, who was raised amid automotive repairs and remodeled classics out of Cleveland, OH. Who would have thought that modest beginning would eventually place Czinger at the forefront of introducing the all- electric vehicle, in the little known industry first started in this country decades ago. He intends to become one of many manufacturers, nationally and globally, to take the automotive industry back to its origins and reintroduce the electric car by offering the CODA. And as the only possible and timely solution in our much beleaguered fossil-fuels transportation industry, you might say he was born to lead America away from its heady oil woes and high prices to a cleaner brighter future of all electric smart vehicles.

The company, CODA Automotive, is based out of Santa Monica, California and Czinger has plans to begin selling a battery electric vehicle (BEV) in the fourth quarter of this year! You might be surprised to learn that this car can be driven 100 + miles between charges and is expected to sell for $30,000 to $35,000, after tax credits. A much more affordable and viable offering then the Tesla Sport, which was beyond most American's financial means.

The United States co-dependency on foreign oil (and its negative aspects of oil spills, environmental damage, loss of life, etc) and greenhouse gas emissions has received much negative publicity of late. The electric-car technology is seen by its advocates to be crucial in reducing and eventually cutting those foreign ties, domestic oil mishaps towards eventually creating a new infrastructure changing the face of America and how it moves.

To quote one person who recently said;

"We cannot be 97% dependent upon one global fungible commodity for the movement of people and goods in this country, says Brian Wynne, president of the Electric Drive Transportation Association. "It is very risky. If you add the environmental risk, it is a very compelling reason to change."Widespread utilization of electric cars would have the dual benefits of using home electric production and local fuels at the same time saving Americans money in the process, Wynne says. "Most people's cars are sitting in the driveway all night when the grid is largely underutilized," he says. "That is an enormous opportunity to fuel cars from domestic feedstock at a cost that is far less than even current prices. The typical vehicle will cost 14 cents a mile, while an electric is 2 to 3 cents." Wynne adds that smart technologies will allow cars to begin charging automatically when the local utility's electricity feed reaches a price point set by the consumer.

The CODA will plug into any standard 110V or 240V socket. Given nighttime utility rates of $.07 per kWh (which is about average in Southern California), the CODA costs $2.37 to fully charge from depletion. That's $2.37 for 90-120 miles of travel!

Perhaps an even more significant incentive for conventional automotive companies to launch electrified cars, say some observers, is the new set of corporate average fuel economy parameters. Starting with 2012 model year vehicles, the rules decreed by the Department of Transportation and EPA on April 1st require automakers to improve fleet-wide fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 5% every year. So, by 2016, the fuel economy standards would reach an estimated 34.1 mpg for the combined industry-wide fleet. So, the proverbial shot has been fired above the proverbial bow, folks!
