The Coleman Widebeam flashlight takes a big D battery and also has a florescent light underneath it so you can stand it up and use it as a light for say, a table outside. This light also takes less strain on the battery and is one of the best features of the flashlight. It has a handle on it and the sheer power of the wide beam flashlight will take your breath away. It might blind you too.
Now for the problems with this flashlight, it is not very durable at all, I dropped it a few times and now it is broken, so do not drop it. First the florescent light broke and now the flashlight itself will not turn on. This is a shame for me because I really liked this flashlight, I just wish it was more durable and could withstand a couple drops. That is really its only down fall as a flashlight.
Just the other day it did come on for a few minutes for no reason at all. I suspect it is just a bad connection somewhere and easily repairable.
You should always carry a flashlight with you at all times in your car, or have one in your house and the Coleman Widebeam is one that would be great for either. This flashlight is was one of the best I owned before I dropped it and it died because its not durable, but it was still a great flashlight. It is somewhat heavy because of the big battery it requires as well as the fact that it is a big and bulky flashlight.
In conclusion, The Coleman WideBeam flashlight is a flashlight that has a florescent light at the bottom of it, and is a powerful widebeam flashlight which means it is brighter then a normal flashlight. It can be bought for about $19.99, and it is a great flashlight for your home, car or to take with you on a camping trip. Look for the Coleman in most sporting goods stores as well as Wal-Mart and K-Mart as well as your local stores.
