THE COLLAPSE of VALUE SYSTEM in the SOCIETY

Akindelly
There is no doubt that over the years, there has been a dramatic change in the value system in the society. There is now the craze to make money by both the youths and adults in the society. Some are arguing that money is money no matter the source. The idea of 'get rich quick' has replaced 'hard work' and 'patience' in the society. Today, many people now think of how to acquire wealth notwithstanding its source (s). Graduates of educational institutions now prefer to join politics rather than securing job because of dissatisfaction with the low income from such job and the dubious money accruable from politics. There are those than engage in swindling, internet frauds among others to make money.

Many professors that supposed to be professing in campuses are now senators, assemblies' men, advisers to government, and ambassadors among others just to make additional income. Many doctors and nurses and other health professionals that supposed to be saving lifes are now in the corridors of power to make money. Many teachers in educational institutions are now 'cheaters' due to their involvement in non-professional practices to make additional money.

In addition, ritual killing, child trafficking, corruption, kidnapping, armed robbery, terrorism among other vices have taken centre stage in the society, all in an attempt to make money at all cost and by whatever means.
