The College Grad Dilemma

You have just crossed the stage in front of friends and family and it is the proudest day of your life. You now belong to the ranks of educated people all over the world then reality hits. Now what? You send out that resume with all the great college experience you have to employers in your respective field and nothing happens. The problem is that even with a college education unless you're in the medical, legal, or architectural field you will need years of on the job training to land that good job right away. If you have a family you don't have that type of time to wait. The next problem is that the government is not going to wait for you to get that job or experience before they want that large student loan repaid. Now you are in a bind, with this bad economy you're forced to take mediocre jobs just to make ends meet, and all the while interest is piling up on those loans. You sit in some factory making the same as a man or woman with a GED and wonder what went wrong. I'll tell you what went wrong. You believed in a country that rewards the rich and indebts the poor. These colleges who advertise know that you have a slim chance of landing a great job out of college, but charge ungodly amounts of money to attend their institutions.

The corporations and the schools are in bed together. They know they are not going to hire 75% of the students that graduate fresh out of college a great salary, but they all want you to have a college degree. In my experience if you don't know someone in your field that has the power to get your foot in the door you're out of luck. The politicians in Illinois have talked little about this problem until this election for president. Students and parents all over the USA need to band together to force these politicians to pressure companies to give everyone an equal opportunity to get these jobs that this country tells the young adults are achievable if you get an education. Right now the only people getting good jobs are connected, but poor and rich are paying large sums for college but only the wealthy and well connected are benefiting. To students all over the world do yourself a favor, don't keep spending money at these colleges unless you are getting a full ride. I promise you when you're up to your eyeballs in debt and every job you apply for wants experience and a degree you will be sorry.
