The Colors of the Rainbow

Tammy White
There are six colors
In every rainbow
From red to purple
You need to know

Red is a primary color
It's the color of cherries
The color of fire
And juicy strawberries

Orange is a bright color
It's the color of carrots
The color of yams
And a color of parrots

Yellow is a primary color
It's the color of custard
The color of sun
And honey mustard

Green is a nature color
It's the color of peas
The color of grass
And summer trees

Blue is a primary color
It's the color of sky
The color of water
And blueberry pie

Purple is a magical color
It's the color of grapes
The color of plums
And royalty drapes

Make your own rainbow
With water and sun
To see these six colors
And have your own fun

I took the easy way, I just used the colors from the sesame street song. The kiddie poems don't usually have indigo:)

I guess "indigo" doesn't count, eh?! Cute poem, but there are 7 colors in the rainbow!!
