Can You Believe It? Five Eyebrow Raising Moments in "Comeback"
Can you believe Sam actually temporarily believed that Quinn saved Finn from choking to death on a gumball and contracted mono this way?
This led into another "Can you believe?" moment - Sam becoming the blonde Bieber...after all, who is more rock n' roll than Bieber? Sam performed an acoustic version of "Baby" for Glee club. After this, Sam could easily snag one of the other New Directions girls...maybe even some of the guys. Artie, Puck and Harry were immediate converts to Sam's Justin Bieber Experience band.
Can you believe Sue's new plan to disrupt New Directions? Once again Sue is working to shatter the Glee club from the inside out. Sue's manipulations actually led to a stellar diva-off between Mercedes and Rachel. They began performing the song "Take Me or Leave Me" from "Rent" and ended as the friends they have become. While Sue's original plan didn't work out, we find out at the end of the program that she is now the director of rival club Oral Intensity. Ouch.
Can you believe Lauren has become such a killer Glee club member? When Lauren first joined New Directions, it seemed like she might become a joke, but she has owned her role for the last several episodes. Her performance of "I Know What Boys Like" only solidified this.
Can you believe how continually cute Britney Pierce continues to be? In this episode Rachel tries to pay Britney to wear her clothing style to start a Rachel Berry trend at the school. Rachel's plan works, but Britney ends up being labeled the trendsetter.
Five Best Quotes:
Sue Sylvester: "Will, you have more grease in your hair than the guy behind Wikileaks."
Sue laid this line on Will after he let her know she brought her current position as Katie Couric's Loser of the Year upon herself. Will and Emma had just stormed into her office after Emma discovered a note that was seemingly suicidal. The whole situation led to Sue sitting in with the glee club for most of the episode.
Britney: "No one ever taught me how to read a calendar."
Britney laid this comment on Rachel after being chastised for wearing leg warmers on her arms instead of her legs. Apparently Miss Pierce felt like February was a summer month full of tank top friendly weather.
Sue: "I've got to get that girl on the Cheerios."
New character? No. Sue was actually referring to Sam after his "Baby" performance.
Sue: "William, I don't care how adorable those kids are. If I hear one song from the classic rock outfit Journey, I will start pulling catheters."
Will managed to talk Sue into singing with him at the pediatric cancer ward of the hospital. While the performance of "This Little Light of Mine" touching, it was equally touching to see Jane Lynch wearing a naturally radiant expression on her face instead of her Sue Sylvester grimace.
Finn: "If someone were going to write a song to win Regionals, it would be you."
Rachel proposed that the Glee club write an original song to perform at Regionals instead of staging a repeat performance of the My Chemical Romance song "Sing." While the suggestion was met with criticism, Finn let Rachel know that he thought it was the right idea and commented on Rachel coming back into her own.
Fade to black for "Comeback."
