The Common Mistakes in Barbequing

We are all human, so it is natural and common to make mistakes. It cannot be prevented as it is in our nature. But when it comes to barbequing, the rules are different. We often realize our mistakes not until we have tasted the food.

There are those mistakes that tell us that the food is going to taste bad, and some mistakes could be as serious as a trip to the hospital, or a visit from your home insurance policy company. No matter how many mistakes you have done in the past, it is best to avoid them in the future whenever possible.

Mistakes While Cooking

Before cooking, make sure that the meat has been prepared properly. Never cook frozen or partially frozen meat on a grill. Allow it to thaw for twelve to twenty-four hours before cooking. You may also thaw it in a microwave for faster results.

Once you have cooked the meat, never put it back on the plate that you used to hold it when it was still raw. Doing so could cause unwanted viruses and germs to spread.

If you choose to cook with charcoal lighter fluid, you must know the advantages and disadvantages of using this. Using it will make the food taste different from meat that was coked using other types of grills. But if you do not use a lighter fluid, you are going to experience a lot of frustration because charcoal is naturally hard to light without a lighter fluid.

While your meat is cooking, never poke at it. If you do so, the juice from inside the meat will leak out into the bottom of the grill. This will make your food dry and unappealing, and it will ruin your barbecue grill. It will cause a buildup of grease and meat juice on the bottom of your grill, making it very difficult to clean.

Remember not to open the lid too many times once the meat is on the grill. Doing so will change the temperature of the grill so often. This can lead to drying up of the meat especially if the change is constant.

Another thing you need to keep in mind is the wrong assumption that higher heat is always better. It will only burn and dry up the meat.

When cleaning the grill, remember that a tin foil and aluminum foil will make cleaning easier, but it will also bring a fried taste to your food.

Mistakes that are Dangerous

Never leave a grill alone if it is still in use. This may cause a fire hazard, and accidents may happen. Always keep your eye on the grill to ensure that no accidents happen. Remember that fire spreads very quickly, so paying attention to the grill is very important.

After cooking, never place a hot grill against a wall even if there is no more fire. A very hot grill can heat up a wall to the dangerous point of combustion. Also, wait for the grill to cool completely before putting the cover back on.

Clean your grill every after use to ensure that no buildup occurs. If you do not clean your grill frequently, you are only going to cause health hazards to you and your family. But before cleaning the grill, make sure that it has cooled completely. Do not spray oil and cleaning agents on a hot surface because it might ignite. You should be careful because the grill may look cool but is still actually hot in some areas.

You will learn to avoid mistakes that can cause accidents and fire hazards if you follow these tips when barbequing.
