The Common People Solutions for Stimulating the Economy

This country has been a recession for almost 9 years now. The U.S. government has exhausted most its stimulus packages in efforts to get the economy back on track. All of these so called financial gurus' who have been strategically placed think they have the answers when it comes to restore the U.S. economy but they don't. Well the U.S. government should listen to the ideas of its own hard working citizens. Is Joe Public not intelligent enough to give his/her input on what will and will not work when it comes to the economy?

It is quite evident that it does not take a rocket scientist to understand how to get the U.S. economy moving again. There are three common people strategies that can stimulate this economy. First, increasing consumer spending will surely help the economy. This can be done by implementing a federal tax free holiday on everything starting on November 14, 2009 to November 29, 2009. This will encourage people to participate in two weeks of tax free shopping. It is a known fact that the day after Thanksgiving, which is commonly known as Black Friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. I believe that if a tax free holiday is in place during this time people will surely take advantage of it. Secondly, the economy would definitely get a boost from reduction of consumer debt. If the U.S. government increased everybody's credit score by 200 points this would improve credit histories across the board. The majority of consumer debt is in purged accounts anyway. Lastly, if the U.S. government offered the same business tax breaks to its own citizen that are highly enjoyed by many people from other countries who came over here and are prospering in various areas of commerce.

The common people in this country need to be heard. Many of us were not born in privileged positions. We are the people who go to work every day not knowing if we will still have that job at the end of the shift. What makes us unique is that we know what it takes to overcome these hard economic times.
