The Compromising Road

A.M. Morgan
On the left the driver is determined and focused you

On the right the driver is a person conflicted about who they should be

Inner thoughts are dancing around inconvenient truths

You are no longer searching for the quickest route but settling for cruise control

Only to discover driving slow does not make it easier to be unapologetically you

You often wonder if embracing love will make a better or filtered version of you?

Or can you find happiness without accepting the imperfections that define you?

Overall, you are driving in two lanes with a solid yellow line in the middle

But a decision has to be made

Stop, Proceed with Caution or Choose a Detour

Whatever the choice you cannot ignore

A Comprising Road is a temporary passage of yours

I like it. I could relate to this poem a few years back, but I quickly realized pleasing someone else without being satisfied wasn't for me. Two months total, that relationship was done. I don't regret it, but I sure did learn a lot about the b.s. I won't tolerate.
