The Connection Between Fat Loss and Cardio

Kristi Patrice Carter
Fat loss and cardio both have a very strong connection to one another. In order to understand this fully, we have to evaluate both of them. Fat loss is the amount of fat you lose during your workout regimen. Cardio is a type of workout that is used to produce weight lost. The bottom line is, if you are trying to lose fat, you need to engage in to some type of cardio. Only then will you produce fat loss.

The good news is that there are many effective ways to increase cardio and supercharge fat loss. Some of these include running, jogging, jumping rope, riding a bike, or even taking an aerobics or jazzercise class. In fact, all of these are very fun but effective methods to produce fat loss. In addition, cardio is good for your heart. It gets your heart pumping and makes you feel invigorated.

Some people mistakenly believe that they engage in fat loss without cardio but they are wrong. Although they may experience some minor results with diets alone, they soon find that they gain it all back once they revert back to their old eating habits.

Here are some tips to really supercharge your fat loss effort:

Exercise in the morning when you first wake up. This is a very effective way which will maximize results, because you wake up early in the morning, you burning calories throughout the day. Studies have shown that doing cardio in the morning before you have eaten can rev up your metabolism which can then lead to faster fat loss.

Combine cardio with a sensible weight loss program. Just about all reputable weight-loss programs recommend that cardio should be done at least once every other day to increase fat loss. Another secret is to combine cardio with strength training. Strength training increases the metabolic rate that persists throughout the day. It builds healthy lean muscles so that you are able to burn calories during your workout and when you're simply resting. In addition, strength training helps protect you from muscle loss that is common as you age. Lastly, muscles rev up your metabolism and fat burning properties.

In conclusion, cardio has numerous health benefits and is very important for fat loss. Without cardio you may lose weight initially (on a reduced diet) but you likely won't keep it off. By combining cardio with healthy eating, you will feel better and lose that extra fat for good. What could be better than that?
