The Conscious and Subconscious Mind

Richard Regener
It has always been believed that our mind, the thinking part of our conscious or subconscious awareness and our physical brain are one and the same physical organ rather than two separate and distinct components. There are many reasons this perception of unity between our mind and the brain may not be accurate in light of the many advances today in technology and research. For instance today we can keep the physical body alive providing some organ activity through artificial means even though there is no longer any detectable brain activity. Brain activity is recognized by conscious or unconscious awareness as in sensation awareness, physical responses and the energy readings supplied by our advances in technological monitoring. There is the phenomena called an out of body experience, which some patients have reported having experienced after coming out of surgery. This experience purports to suggest that our conscious awareness was detached from our physical anatomy briefly when the heart stopped and surgeons had to artificially reactivate the heart. There have of course been volumes of similar reported incidents over decades, which would SUGGEST the physical brain is actually a sophisticated bio-genetic computer organically designed through evolution to permit unique energy components to interact within a physical environment. This unique and consciously aware energy component being ourselves. It should be noted that this theory is only suggestive and not conclusive as yet, although organic life cannot survive without energy. As a personal reflection it's been noted that we have a tendency to recreate ourselves in our designs such as in vehicles, robotics etc... relating to how they function.

SUBCONSCIOUS MIND

Continuing with this hypothesis our subconscious awareness is what we mostly utilize in our daily interactions within this physical environment. It is in the subconscious portion of the mind where our memories, emotions, creativity, imagination, appreciation and will reside which are continuously active and where ingrained concepts are developed into beliefs to support our conscious awareness within this physical existence. This is because physical movement, memory, creative thought is repetitive conditioned behaviour where as the imagination, emotions, appreciation and will are more responsive behaviours. Conditioned behaviour like walking, running, memorizing, trial and error processes are learned through repetition. The other four are usually responsive behaviours based on needs, desires or developed reactions to external stimuli. The subconscious mind controls every facet of our behaviour from how we think to how we act based on how and with what information we have conditioned ourselves to accept as ingrained beliefs.

CONSCIOUS MIND

Our conscious awareness deals primarily with sensory input from this physical environment based on activity, perception, experiences, physical senses, sensations etc... then processed by our subconscious mind based on our developed and ingrained understandings at the time. Can we consciously override our subconscious conditioning? The ability to do so resides in all of us, although doing so entails a continued conscious effort to activate our emotional determination over long periods to change conditioned behaviour patterns. Anyone having overcome negative habits like continuously using foul language, smoking addiction, drinking addiction, eating disorder, gambling addiction, drug addiction, anger management etc... can relate to this from practical experience. In a similar vein many people who are success driven whether in business, politics, sports, media, entertainment etc... tend to override any previous subconscious conditioning creating a different set of conditioned values.

THE PHYSICAL BRAIN

Our brain unlike any another organ is designed to correlate, store, send and retrieve data via the central nervous system only the brain is directly controlled by the subconscious mind and it's life force energy. The brain is also central to directing the actions of our physical body functions when it's energy flow patterns remain uninterrupted. As with every organ that requires nutritious balance in it's physical make up. The human brain is an evolutionary marvel in it's intricate design and ability to redirect energy flow subject to it's chemical balance remaining stable. Unfortunately in today's world where organic nutrients needed by our body are being replaced with synthetic compounds, pesticides, additives, drugs, artificial enhancements etc... there are more and more people being negatively affected and this process is being passed on to the children. When DNA structures the physical building blocks of the anatomy are altered through the introduction of synthetic compounds the altered DNA can be passed on to future generations.
