The Conservative Calvacade of Clowns

Jeremy Scott
"All sound and fury, signifying nothing." Can this really be my Grandfather's GOP? Do Conservatives have any members with a modicum of common sense?

Donald Trump throwing his hat in the ring is an apt analogy as the GOP/Tea Party has devolved into a three ring circus. I thought it couldn't get much worse than the Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann dynamic duo of silliness. Palin and Bachmann's mantra of less government, fewer taxes, watch me wrap myself in the American Flag routine could have been written by a fifth grader. Think about it; anybody can get in front of the camera and say "I love America" but very few can be effective in actually governing the Country. And it's always extreme talk from these two; help us save this Country from our socialist oppressor in the Whitehouse! The sky is falling! These gals both watch way too much Glenn Beck, or as I call him, Mr. Apocalypse.

Now we have the Trumpster riding to America's rescue. He obviously thinks he's in another unreality show, another opportunity to trumpet the Trump brand. This guy is nothing if not a tough talking self promoter and no doubt feels he can channel Ronald Reagan and free the world from the tyranny of, well, just about everyone but him.

In one respect, these people are entertaining but their loud squawks start to wear thin after awhile. They have become there own self defeating force as they ratchet up the hyperbole on a nearly daily basis. Let us hope somewhere the Grand Old Party will find it's voice, a voice that speaks common sense.
