The CoolPix Digital Camera as Recommended by Ashton Kutcher and Me

Nikon Coolpix L16 Black Digital Camera: Product Review

Lisa Carey
As hard as it may be to believe, almost everyone in my family has a digital camera. Mine current one is an HP Photosmart, my daughter's is a digital and my son recently got the Nikon Coolpix. I am not sure if the fact that one of his favorite actors, Ashton Kuthcher, features in the commercials had anything to do with his choice, but I do know that a digital camera was at the top of the Christmas wish list for my college and teenage "children."

Nikon Coolpix L16 Black Digital Camera Price (at Walmart) $89.97 however I think it was worth the additional amount ($99.88) to have the bundle package which included a 2GB SD memory card and camera case.

Our experience with the Nikon Coolpix L16 Black Digital Camera: Recently the Nikon Coolpix L16 Black Digital Camera was put through a true test. A trip to New Orleans for the weekend! While many say that New York is the city that never sleeps, I would have to argue that New Orleans probably comes in a very close second. We arrived at approximately 11 pm at night and after a "pregame warm up" went out on the town up and down Canal Street and the French Quarter. Over the course of the weekend we required indoor and outdoor shots, as well as of course lasting digital picture memories of such places at the Hard Rock Café, Pat O'Brien's and The Saloon (I just had to have pictures of him singing karaoke). The Nikon Coolpix L16 Black Digital Camera held up well under the pressure of so many different settings, lightings and travel. It was incredibly easy to use and by using the auto function setting from the menu it took all the guess work out of our picture taking. Did I take my camera with me? Heck no, this was new and I wanted to test it out!

The pictures from inside the clubs, bars, saloons, and restaurants were incredibly clear as were the pictures of the people we met. However, the internal memory is very limited, so I was glad that I spent the extra money on a memory card. The camera is just the right size for travel without being too heavy or bulky. You can even slide it into a front or shirt pocket and the carry case keeps it protected from accidents.

While I prefer a camera with more functions, as I use my camera for both personal and professional use, this Nikon Coolpix really does make taking "cool pix" easy and fun to do. It was definitely the favorite present of the whole year and the lightweight design and ease of use makes it the perfect digital camera for use by everyone from a teenager to those wanting to just take really great pictures for fun and lasting memories.

Would I buy it again? Absolutely and the teenage daughter has already asked why she didn't get one.

Would I recommend it? Yes, you shouldn't be disappointed.
