Eyeglass Frames for Face Shapes

Contrast the shape of your face with eyeglasses frames. Most faces are a combination of shapes and angles. The seven basic face shapes and eyeglass frames are:

Round: rectangular eyeglass frames
Square: round eyeglass frames
Oblong: longer than wide face: eyeglass frames that have a top-to-bottom depth by adding detail to frames to widen the face
Base-down Triangular: narrow forehead and widens at cheek: emphasize the upper third of the face with color or eyeglass frame size
Base-up Triangular: face has a wide top third and small bottom third: choose rimless, light colors or wider eyeglass frames on the bottom
Diamond: rimless, cat-eye or oval shaped eyeglass frames
Oval: eyeglass frames that are as wide as the widest part of the face and can wear any style except geometric

Eyeglass Frame Colors

To choose the color of your eyeglass frames, complement skin tone and hair color. Cool complexions have blue or pink undertones. Warm complexions have a yellow cast. You can choose a eyeglass frame color to repeat your best feature such as blue eyeware frames for blue eyes too. Choose eyeglass frame colors by going with skin tones first. Then see how the eyewear frame goes with eye color and hair color.

Eyeglass Frame Colors for Skin Tones

Cool skin tones: choose black, jade, magenta, plum, pink, magenta, rose-brown, dark tortoise blue-gray, and blue eyeglass frames
Warm skin tones: choose camel, khaki, gold, copper, peach, orange, coral, off-white, fire-engine red, warm blue and blond tortoise eyeglass frames

Eyeglass Frame Materials

Fashion Glasses

Think about price. Fashion glasses might be the thing. However, they usually go out of style within a couple of years. Then, you may not want to wear them. If you get new prescription eyeglasses every couple of years, then it might be worth it. You have to like your prescription eyeglasses or you won't wear them as you should.

Prescription eyeglasses can easily complement your face. You just need to know the correct way to choose eyewear frames to turn them into fashion glasses.
