The Cost of Hiring a Writer

R
When you're thinking of hiring a writer, one of the biggest concerns you'll have is quality. The other is price. Many people want to pay very little for their writers because they don't want to spend a lot of money to make money with their Web site. However, there are many good writers out there who won't take these kinds of jobs because they can't afford to work that way.

So the good writers fight through a lot of low-paying jobs to get to the jobs that they feel comfortable taking, and a lot of inexperienced writers write site content that the site owners are then not happy with. Site visitors and potential customers aren't usually too happy with it, either, because it doesn't read well. It doesn't instill comfort and confidence in people who come to your site when there are misspellings, poorly worded statements, and other grammatical problems throughout the text.

Everyone can make a mistake or a typo and not catch it, but there's a limit to that sort of thing, especially on a business-related Web site that's designed to be professional. What too many site owners don't realize, though, is that they have to pay well if they want quality work. The cost of not hiring a good, high-quality writer can ultimately be higher than the cost of hiring one, simply because of the damage that poor text or copy can do to your site.

If you just want something to put on the pages of your site, you can hire someone who will write articles for you for a penny or two a word. If you want quality articles that aren't too technical, you should expect to pay five to ten cents a word and up. Some writers command twenty to fifty cents a word or more, and much of that depends on how well they know the material (i.e. do they have to do research), as well as how tight the deadline is and whether they are writing a straightforward article or something more complex.

By hiring a good quality writer for site content, you won't have to worry about whether your content is readable and whether your visitors will want to stay and look at what you have to offer. You'll have to pay out some money in the beginning, but you'll get it back - and then some - because your site visitors will turn into customers, and those customers will often turn into repeat customers.

Overall, getting a good quality writer who will create the kinds of site content that visitors will really enjoy is well worth his or her price.
