The Country Tonite Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

Great Entertainment, Great Fun!

Abby Greenhill
If you are going to the Sevierville or Pigeon Forge, Tennessee area, there are so many activities for you to enjoy that it may be difficult to pick from just one! There is one show in particular that you should catch. The Country Tonite Theater, which has 1,500 seats, has been around for 14 years, and they have an excellent reputation for providing exceptional entertainment for not a lot of money. They make it easy for you to save even more money, like $5, by buying your tickets online. Don't let me forget to tell you this; kids get in free with paying adults. Way to go Country Tonite!

There are various sections that make up the Country Tonite Theater. They have daily shows and then they have special evening performances. Those evening shows are when the big names come into town. That is called the Celebrity Concert Series. Several years ago I saw a commercial on TV for County Tonite. George Jones would be the 'star' the next week. Since my husband is a George Jones fan from way back, and I do mean way back, I surprised him with two tickets. George even had my toes tapping after a few songs!

Daily Shows:

For those of you morning people, there is a morning show that starts at 10:00 am, which is a comedy/variety show. There is always some gospel and American patriotism in these daily shows. Then they have two more shows daily at 3:00 and 8:00 PM. Click here for the schedule, to meet the cast and get more details on the daily shows. You can purchase tickets for the daily shows online.

Celebrity Concert Series:

The Celebrity Concert Series has a new schedule each year, but it's always country music singers whose songs you will enjoy. Concert tickets can only be purchased by calling 800-792-4308. You cannot order concert tickets online.

The 2011 Celebrity Concert Series and ticket prices (plus tax) are as follows:

May 27, 2011 - Loretta Lynn, $45.50

June 17, 2011 - Ronnie Milsap, $35.00

July 1, 2011 - Lori Morgan and Pam Tillis, $35.00

July 22, 2011 - George Jones, $45.50

August 29, 2011 - Don Williams, $39.95

September 23, 2011 - Gene Watson and Connie Smith - $35.00

October 21, 2011 - Ray Stevens, $45.50

November 11, 2011 - The Nashville Legends Show which includes Jim Ed Brown, Jeannie Seeley, Helen Cornelius and Jack Green, $35.00

There are so many shows and options, that it is best for you to check their website for more detailed information. If you plan on attending any of the Celebrity Concert Series, these tickets do sell out fast.

I'm thinking Ronnie Milsap would be a great show, especially when he sings, "Smoky Mountain Rain"... a great song and very appropriate with the Smoky Mountains within view! Or maybe, "I Don't Need Your Rocking Chair", by George Jones is more your up your alley!

I'm not much of a country fan, but I do really like Loretta Lynn. Just something about her that I really admire.
