The Crash of a Boeing 737 from Istanbul

A Turkish Airlines plane flight 1951 crashed into a field before landing at Amsterdam's main airport. This was a Boeing 737-800 coming from Istanbul. Nine people were killed and another 50 were hurt. All together there were 135 (The numbers run from 134 to 143.) people on board. Just yesterday I was listening to the radio and the talk was that with the economy (like many businesses) we may be seeing less experienced pilots because one pilot interviewed said he had gotten a 40% decrease in pay. He went on to say that he didn't know any pilots who wanted their children to follow that career path.

Having said the above it was made clear that the plane's captain, Hasan Tahsin, is experienced and a former air force pilot.

The cause of the above crash isn't known yet but the plane broke into three pieces when it hit the ground. The tail broke off, the fuselage which is near the cockpit split into two pieces as well. One engine could be seen almost intact and the other was about 200 years from the plane.

Unfortunately a spokesperson for the airline had said that everyone survived. I would not have liked to have gotten news after that about my dead loved one! Some of the people are in serious condition and some crew members include those who were hurt. The ground where the plane landed was muddy so perhaps that helped with more people not getting killed because there was no fire.

So the investigation goes on. The level of the fuel was fine so it wasn't a matter of suddenly running out of fuel or a faulty fuel reader. In any case according to regulations a commercial/passenger aircraft has to carry enough fuel not only to get where it is going but just in case it has to have enough in case it has to stay in the air for up to 45 minutes, perhaps go to a different airport and hold for another 45 minutes and then land. So at least we know that most likely the plane we are on won't run out of gas!

I had a horrible dream about a plane crash a couple of months ago and told my husand it was a psychic prediction and then all of a sudden all of these plane crashes started happening. I wish I would have just dreamed about chocolalte and puppies. This is very scary.
