The Crisis that Small and Incontinent People Face

Reina Brown
If you are a small person who is incontinent, you are most certainly going to run into problems finding protection that is up to par. Why is this? Well, it is due to the fact that people who are small and incontinent make up only a small portion of the market. This puts small people in a situation that is a crisis in many more ways than one.

One crisis that the small and incontinent face is that they can't even find protection that fits in any grocery store or drug store. While I do not recommend using any adult diapers that can be purchased in a grocery store or drug store, as they are usually of poor quality, those who are small can't even find any in their size if they were in a pinch. The smallest diaper that is carried in these stores is a medium, which is entirely too big. Even if a small person were to wrap the diaper around them several times, it would still not work, as it would sag down in the crotch and urine or fecal matter wood drip out of the side, as the leg gathers would not fit snugly. The only form of protection that a small person could get in a pinch when it is absolutely necessary to purchase diapers from these places is Good Nights. Thankfully, Good Nights have remarkably improved and can absorb large amounts. Small people will be better off purchasing diapers from a medical supply place, and this is only better for them if the supplier even carries a small, as some do not.

When trying to purchase diapers from medical suppliers or from suppliers of incontinence products, some will either not carry a small at all, or they will only have a couple of choices that are not the best options, as the choices that are being offered are typically the cheap brands that are not very absorbent. A few places that I found this to be the case are Golden Age Medical, whose smallest size is a medium. Personally Delivered is another place that does not completely meet the needs of the small, which only has two good options for small people, which are Prevail and Tranquility. The other options are not that great, as the other brands in the small size are not that absorbent. Another was Magic Medical. I asked Magic Medical why they only had a couple of options in the small size, and I was very bluntly and rudely told that people who are my size do not make up enough of the market, thus they do not take priority, which leads me to discuss the next crisis that small and incontinent people face.

Because small people do not make up enough of a demand, supposedly so they say, the diapers that are made for them are not made with the same quality as those who wear medium or large sizes. For instance, the attends for the small population is made poorly, only absorbing seven ounces of urine. The leg gathers are also worthless, and there is no waistband. However, the medium sizes and above have all the great perks and features, such as stretchy leg gathers and the waistband that insures a comfortable fit. Small people may not make up enough of a demand; however, they do deserve to be comfortable, and they do deserve to have protection that is adequate.

If you or anyone you know is an incontinent person who requires a small sized diaper, you need to make your voice heard. Don't just settle for taking a medium sized diaper and rapping it around, which is what a lot of people do. Just as people like their underwear to fit, small people want diapers to fit just as comfortably. This crisis can be brought to an end if you show people that there really is a demand, a priority, and that you will not stand for such treatment.
