There are some indulgences in life that have such a reputation of luxury, grandness and sumptuousness that normal everyday people often find it hard to consider allowing ordinary individuals such as themselves such pleasures from time to time. This feeling could just be a holdover from an era when indulgences like spa treatments, pedicures and eating out really were too much to hope for. It occurs to people now that to be able to say to the woman in their lives that they plan for a six-hour cruise that evening into the sunset with dinner to the sounds of water lapping on the sides of the vessel and a fine band, carries an irresistible quality of adventure and class that fine dining or a ball just cannot match.

A trip out to sea now can cost no more, if you wish it that way than a good night out with dining and dancing thrown in. For the trips that could involve a little more planning and additional cost, cruise operators offer other imaginative options. A romantic couple who wish to have a beautiful time out at sea by themselves without others around, can choose to charter their own little boat with chauffeur out for a day. Houseboats complete with inbuilt kitchen, a bedroom and bath with their unutterable coziness and seclusion, are another favorite for the romantic couple

Regular cruises to destinations such as Baja or the Bahamas are offered these days on shorter weekend itineraries. The shorter programs are intended to help people out by not requiring long stretches of time blocked out of their lives to merely come take a cruise. These romantic cruises leave out of major ports such as New York on the East Coast, or San Diego and Long Beach on the West Coast. The weekend cruise is such a boon to the romantic couple. The very thought of working through the week with the promise of a beautiful time at the end, on a cruise with one's sweetheart is such an alluring one that it is a surprise that the affordable cruise was not thought of before. Seclusion with the sunset on the water has for long been a romantic dream dreamed in every movie, in every novel, in every life. There is not much that denies us this any longer.
