The Culpability of News Organizations and Politicians for Child Sex Offenders

Benoliwal
Over the years many one-upmanship sex offender Bills, ordinances, rules and regulations have been legislated and voted into law all across the United States, news organizations along with politicians and other political leaders feeding the politically made and news media supported sex offender hysteria and paranoia.

Children were supposed to be protected but more often we see them becoming not only victims of molestation by people they know and the not so common stranger predator, but they have also become victims of predatory news makers and predatory politicians.

From 1996 to 2007 sex offender registries grew by a whopping 326% (data gathered from various government studies); this growth included the inclusion of mere children charged and adjudicated as sex offenders. From five years of age and up children are branded before their senses have had a chance to fully form, and the public taught by politicians and news organizations not to care, or even become outraged for such damming of a child.

In a US News & World Report dated June 9, 2007 an article says there are juvenile offenders as young as 5 years of age. Why in the world would anyone in their most sane mind want to call a child barely out of a mother's womb a sex offender? It is because of wrong messages sent by psychiatrist and psychologist, this is not new. Remember Sigmund Freud and Doctor Spoke? Some present day psychiatrist and psychologist that with government entities have set and defined sex offender categories and their classifications.

Would it not be better than automatically labeling a child as a sex offender that a child or children undergo child therapy if that is needed, rather than automatically label a child as a sex offender? We hear of cases in schools where a child probably innocently touched another child somewhere on the body of the other child, and the other child got angry and went and told a teacher. The teacher sends the child who is now a sexual perpetrator to the principles office.

These educated people decide that by current laws the first child committed a sex offense. Police are now called and the child is now involved with various government agencies, and psychologists or psychiatrists including quite possibly the legal system. The parent instead of defending their child in most instances seems to be at a loss for words because they believe their child may be labeled as a sex offender. In today's current paranoiac and misleading atmosphere that becomes a serious possibility.

Madness I tell you, it is madness. So goes what seems an everyday occurrence, someone somewhere is cited or charged as a sex offender.

The words sex offender is stigmatizing for a reason. According to a Vanderbilt Peabody Psychologist words have serious impact particularly words that are nouns such as sex offender. Here is what she says: "We use nouns generally to describe things whose essential nature does not change: brick, house, dog," Giles said. "We learn at a very early age that nouns are used to describe something's fundamental character. As a result, when we hear a person being described with a noun-murderer, sex offender, criminal-we tend to automatically infer that that person cannot and will not change."

Cannot change, doesn't that sound familiar? It is what many people including politicians say who have become and are full of hate and skewed reasoning abilities. The words, the nouns engender in certain people a way of thinking that borders on dangerous absurdity.

There are other people other than children labeled as sex offender in which no act of child molestation, enticement, or lewd behavior with a child ever took place, and some where charges were contrived through a desire for vengeance. The paranoiac public (a subset of the general voting population) are led to believe by politicians and news organizations that sex offenders were mostly adults and mostly felons. Never have politicians or news organizations especially television made an effort to inform the paranoiac public that there are a lot of misdemeanor offenders that have offenses not even rising to the level of child molester, lewd behavior with a child, or sexual predator.

When children as young as 5 starts to be labeled as sex offender, why don't states do something positive about these laws? States keep these bad laws going because they are afraid to correct themselves, afraid that they will lose constituents amongst those people who may have been hurt, or their child was hurt, murdered or offended, so they make up little sayings like; it's best to error on the side of children as a reason for keeping bad laws, and thus more and more people are punished as child molesters including children, the de facto meaning of sex offender.

News organizations say they report the news, but watching television news programs, or listening to radio talk shows, or reading information in the print it is quite clear that news stations and news anchors inject personal opinions into their news reporting, after all they are personalities that people look up to, thus continuing to feed the gullible masses, particularly the paranoiac with the help of politicians who will not tell the truth for fear of losing constituent voting.

Recently in Salt Lake City Utah a 13 year old girl is charged with a sex offense, and also as being a victim of a sex offense. You see, the victim of the 13 year old girl is a 12 year old boy. The girl allegedly perpetrating the sex and both are children. This was not forced sex, it was consensual. But you say children cannot consent to sex, laws even say as much. Reality says they can and do, but not with the knowledge and understanding that should come with greater age. Both children now have a chance of being labeled as sex offenders. Tell me are these the legislative, legal, and judiciary systems you want to continue to support?

Therapy if needed should automatically come first before any rush to labeling a child a sex offender, but that is not happening, and news organizations are not reporting that this is not happening. There is now a cottage industry of big money focused on first the labeling of a child as a sex offender, and then the grueling therapy. Therapy stigmatization of a child who is barely old enough to form complete reasoned thoughts becomes a troubled child, for now the child believes that there is something vary wrong with him or her, and that they are bad. Unfortunately there are unreasoned parents and other adults supporting this stigmatization of sex offender upon children.

Reporting of news is all that news organizations do, is that true? News organizations help shape how people think and even behave toward certain subjects helping them to have outrage either for or against something, and yet when it comes to helping people who want to dispel the myths, the political grandstanding and political cowardice, and the misrepresentation of truths and facts, the politically correct media are no where to be found when activists for changing unjust sex offender laws want to be heard. This is the time for news organizations to stand up and be counted as real news investigators and reporters of factual news, news kept away from the public for the cause of political correctness.

Lauren Skryzowski recently completed a two and a half year sentence. He had a prior conviction in 1996 after being accused of fondling four of his neighbors -- three girls and a boy -- whose ages ranged from 6 to 8.

Soon everyone will be on some sort of registry. Only those with power in government will be exempt. Everyone will be labled and therefore told how to think and act. We must stop it here. We need to get rid of all these unconstitutional laws and reclaim our humanity. Until and unless we do the politicians will continue to pass their invasive laws until you won't be able to go to the bathroom without permission from big brother.

You are so-o-o right about our children being abused by the politicians and the media. And, their teachers and principals are right up there doing it also! To think that mere, innocent children have to be "punished", legally or otherwise, for simply being innocent kids, is beyond any sense of logic imaginable! We in California actually have elementary schools where NO TOUCHING of any kind is permitted. Not even handshakes, or high-fives or pats on the back in sports! This is insanity!
These kids are being programmed to live in the "Home of the Fearful", not the once proud "Home of the Brave"! Who's teaching them...why none other than their teachers, principals, their parents and all those do-gooder organizations like the Adam Walsh Act, Jessica's Law, Megan's Law, and on and on! If there was just ONE, JUST ONE politician worth their weight in common sense to speak out against this insidious practice, maybe we could have a return to Childhood for Children.
    Thank you, Benoliwal,
