The town of Nipomo is a small town with a population barely over 11 thousand people, and in this town there are trees that stretch for miles, they are called Eucalyptus trees. These Eucalyptus trees are a cultural artifact of the town of Nipomo and of its inhabitants such as me.

For me the Eucalyptus tree is a significant artifact of where I came from and who I am. The Eucalyptus signifies my passion for my town and it people as well as my behaviors. The reason for this is because the Eucalyptus tree's features and make up create a very complex symbol. And this is why. The Eucalyptus was never suppose to be in Nipomo it was an accident brought overseas by a Nipomians native who was looking to make money by growing cheap and fast producing trees aka (Eucalyptus)to make furniture, however the Eucalyptus tree is a very brittle tree that is not good for making furniture. But it is very good fire wood that burns hotter that any would I have come to know, it has also been Known to be quite explosive at times. Much like the Eucalyptus I can also be explosive and get hot very quickly and consistently. But this is not significant to just me, it is with in all of the peoples of Nipomo.

Like the Eucalyptus the people of Nipomo where never suppose to inhabit Nipomo either, there is not enough water in Nipomo to sustain a population of people, however (the eucalyptus trees need very little water to survive). But by human hand water has been pumped in to Nipomo for the past 57 years. This is one of the only reasons why people can live in Nipomo. If there was no water there would be no Nipomians and without the first Nipomians there would never have been a single Eucalyptus tree in Nipomo.

In addition to how the Eucalyptus is a symbol of importance to Nipomians it is also an important symbol to me. The Eucalyptus is one of the only trees on the planet that burns form the inside out this is due to the very flammable sap that the tree produces. In a very similar way I am ignited on the inside by a similar thing that flows out like fire from my heart where I hold my thoughts to my mouth where I speak my mind to the world that speaks right back. In many ways the people of Nipomo are the same as the trees that they must co-exist with. They are all burning on the inside with a passion for their home town, family and beliefs. A town that's history is not that fare berried in the past for most Nipomians the past is growing in their back yards. And the future is standing in the front door just waiting to be grasped. The Eucalyptus are true living artifacts of the Social and physical make up of Nipomo today and it will significant in the future.

In conclusion the Eucalyptus Significant to the culture of Nipomo is rooted in the past and what it signifies to the future the Eucalyptus is a uniting force that all Nipomians share at the root of there being. In addition the Eucalyptus tree is a direct and important symbol in describing me and who I am. In closing the Eucalyptus tree symbolizes a misplaced, close nit, passionate, people, that I call my Acquaintances, Friends, and Family.
