This two level multi-functional establishment is a hot spot for a wide variety of patrons. Whether a sports fanatic or a groupie, The Cup will satisfy everyone.
The main floor features a bar, seating area, band area and a small dance area. When a sports game isn't featured or a band is in between sets, the Jukebox blares out the best in heavy metal/rock tunes from artists such as Korn and Disturbed. There's a great mix of songs. Be prepared to move to the BOX! On the lower level you can listen to DJ Brotherman playing heavy metal/hard rock music on Saturday nights. The lower level also is home for comedy night, shooting some pool or just hanging out in the lounge.
Every day of the week The Cup features drink specials. Happy hour begins 3pm Monday thru Friday with $1.00 Domestic draft beers till 7pm. There are drink specials all night on Mondays, Coors Light pints go for $2.00, Tuesday's special is $2.00 Bud pints, Wednesdays are $2.50 Coronas and select drink specials, check with the bartenders for specifics.
Love Pool? The Cup is involved with the APA and TAP associations. If you're interested in league playing, contact Dan or Joe at the club. Thee are two pool tables downstairs in the lounge. You can also shoot darts.
Join The Cup every Wednesday night at 7:30pm for World Tavern Poker. Win prizes! It's free and you can compete in tournaments. To participate you must register with www.worldtavernpoker.com. There you can also obtain scheduling information.
On their 10 large screen TV's you can watch most NFL games, baseball games, basketball and hockey games but be aware, The Cup is home to the die-hard Pittsburgh Settlers fans! During football season come in to watch Pittsburgh play. Every game will be broad casted!
Head on downstairs to The Lounge. You can have a party! The Lounge has its own PA system, five large screen TV's, cable and satellite (for your sports nuts) and a fully stocked bar. Complete with leather couches and dim lighting gives the feeling of being in a world all by yourselves. You cannot have a private party, but you can get away from the crowds upstairs.
Do they have food? Absolutely! Try one of the "Five Under Five" deals. Pick from one of five lunch specials for under $5.00 each! Or, try Dirty Kurty's homemade chili, made fresh to order! There also offer "finger foods" such as chicken fingers (real white meat!) mozzarella sticks and their house special mesquite marinated chicken and Colby cheese rolled in a crispy tortilla. They also offer cheese steaks, complete steak or chicken dinners with vegetables, Nacho platters and beef and chicken quesadilla's. Need to take out? No problem, just call ahead, place your order and pick it up.
Bored on a Thursday? This is when The Cup has some fun! Come in for Karaoke night! DJ Mike plays the latest music that you request to hear, along with music for Karaoke singing! Laugh and sing to your heart's content!
Fridays and Saturdays The Cup provides you with live entertainment. Local bands from all over the tri-state area get exposure here at The Cup. Bands must submit a demo for review if interested in performing at The Cup. Most shows start at 10pm, depending on the number of bands performing that night. Patrons can get up close to the stage on the small open floor area and groove with the bands. Most bands bring their fans but feel free to come in and join the crowd and see what the current music scene is all about. I have seen young and old alike at The Cup on weekends. If you like hard core/heavy metal scream-into-the mic music, stop in for a great night of local entertainment! There is a small cover charge on band nights, you must be 21.
Just a preview of upcoming music events at the Cup, on Friday, September 5th, SKURGE will be performing. Saturday, September 6th features VOODOO DOWN and SPLITCASE and on September 13, beginning at 12pm, The DYSFUNCTIONAL STANLEY PICNIC 2008 - see club for details.
This is definitely NOT a nightclub to dance the night away under laser lights or expect to find business suits and high-heeled stiletto shoes running about! But at The Club you will find a great atmosphere dedicated to energy, rawness, loudness and awesome music by the bands, DJ and jukebox. The Cup is a small, clean comfortable club where just about anything goes. But the Cup is not just for the younger crowd. You can come in to relax after a long day at work just to watch TV at the bar during the week. Sit and chat with the bartender. Come in on sports night to watch a game on one of the many TV's available.
Although The Cup has its own parking lot in front, it is small. However, there is street side parking available.
