The Cure for All Our Ills

Or the Republican Party Platform

The only economic indicator showing sustained growth is the steady rise in poverty. More of anything indicates a potential for profit. The payday, car title loan and creative mortgage industries saw and took advantage of this. Perhaps the government should initiate a tax on poverty to augment its coffers.

It's apparent that the wealthy are not willing to share in the tax burden and spend an immense amount of time an money insuring their position of privilege. The crass aristocracy of princely billionaires uses wealth to create more wealth for their exclusive pleasure while the poor waste their pittances on the crudest of needs. Let the poor take care of their own. Make unemployment compensation, social security and disability benefits and any other sort of social welfare fully taxable. Increase sales taxes on everyday commodities to 15% accross the board. Increase the standard work week to 50 hours. Set not only minimum but maximum hourly wages. Pay only Chinese overtime (1/2 rather than 1 1/2 the hourly wage) and make overime mandatory. Redact child labor laws and tax the kids at double the going rate for the privilege of learning a trade. Work the elderly poor to the day of their death so they can save enough to cover funerary expenses. Do away with meaningless societal divisions such as race, ethnicity and culture and have a more expanded society of haves and have nots.

Trust your betters, be quiet, obey and remember to wash your hands.
