The Dark Knight Rises Trailer Premieres on Bootleg Video

The Dark Knight Rises trailer is supposed to premiere Friday with the Harry Potter finale. Yet it has already premiered in the U.K. in front of Deathly Hallows screenings, so fans have already bootlegged the trailer, according to Cinemablend. However, the Dark Knight isn't allowed to rise again in America for another day, so copies keep getting taken down. But they have stayed up long enough for most viewers to see it and get their first clues on how Christopher Nolan will end his Batman trilogy.

Warning: Spoilers follow

Since the movie is still in production, few expected a large amount of new footage in the teaser. As such, much of the first look of The Dark Knight Rises contains clips from the past two installments. However, all but one of those clips are from Batman Begins, accompanied by voiceover from original villain Ra's Al Ghul.

The spoilers that have been unearthed indicate that this is more of a sequel to Batman Begins than The Dark Knight, as it seems Nolan wants to come full circle. How that ties in to villains like Bane and Catwoman is unclear at the moment. But if it wasn't clear that Nolan wants to bring things to an end, it was in the trailer with text like "Every Journey Has An End" and "The Epic Conclusion To The Dark Knight Legend."

Harry Potter fans have already been flooded with reminders that "It All Ends" with Deathly Hallows Part 2, and now Warner Bros. is using the same tactic with Batman. Of course, although this is likely Nolan's last Batman movie, the studio is probably less reluctant to let the franchise die. Yet that will probably depend on how this one does and whether it can live up to the massive hype.

Audiences won't be able to conclude if it will by the first trailer, although it shows that Nolan and his franchise are still as grim as ever. Not only is Commissioner Gordon in the hospital, he hints that Batman has hung up his cape, and that a new "evil rises" in his absence. In addition, the teaser recreates the first poster image of crumbling Gotham skyscrapers, and has a split-second look at the bone-crushing Bane.

Thanks to the bootleg copies, it is hard to get a clearer look at the action and it is even hard to make out Gordon's last words as well. But fanatics are so impatient to see it they will gladly endure a blurry copy until they see a clearer one in the next few days.

For such a look, they can join the masses in seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Friday, if only to see The Dark Knight Rises trailer on the big screen. Or they can go online to see clearer bootleg copies over the weekend, until Warner Bros. finally posts an official video.
