The Dark and Star Free Night - A Halloween Poem

Chris Borris
On a smooth pond
On a star-free night,
hundreds of ugly ducks
are robbed of their splendor
with a few feathers paper
come obviously not widespread
and you will not learn to talk.
If you ever go sliding
On that wrinkle-free pond,
on a night full of loneliness.
Hundreds of ugly ducks
Are the children of their time
And they can not help
those who are too proud to go.
First they mocked the stars
And then they leave you here.
On a smooth pond,
on a night that never disappears
hundreds of all search
for a light that shines no more
and they look in the water
and they see the truth.
The paper feathers tremble
In the silence, a tear
In the disturbing ripple pond
In a gods-free night
hundreds liberated tears
screaming inaudible soft.
Even the stars have disappeared
Knowing no yes or no
hundreds of ugly ducks
Sliding all alone on a smooth pond.
