The Day that God Forgot to Be God

Does it Really Matter If We Pray Over Our Food?

rmharrington
This morning I found myself in the middle of breakfast without having remembered to thank God for my food. Now some may see no need to thank, for God they say our gladness knows. Right they may be that thanksgivings for meals are a thing too great. God is not; after all, small like a man that he should think much of such a little thing.

I once had a friend who was a policeman. Many times it was that he covered my speeding ways. No thanks he needs I always thought. Reverse the roles and you would see, to him I would that good deed return. No thanks needed, no thanks given. Friends don't make great these little things.

On one day too many, my speed got away. My friend delivered me; he saved the day. But in parting he turned to me and said, "No more free rides. You never ever even say thanks".

Perhaps thanksgiving for simple meals means little to you and less to God. But I wonder; what would it be, if God should forget to take care of you and of me?

This is an important lesson, so please don't let me fail to say thank you to YOU and to thank God FOR you. A true friend in Christ indeed. :-)

We always give thanks - for everything. My thankful heart overflows with thanksgiving to my Creator God. :) Cheers
