The Day Her Water-Bag Broke!

The Christian Watchman
God manifested how he can suddenly manifest in all our circumstances in this funny situation that happened sometimes ago.

You'll enjoy it, and rejoice that God's got everything covered even in your life too!

Early one Friday morning after my prayer group finished a short retreat my friend and I decided to spend the last day relaxing in the wood away from the camp. An opportunity for us to visit the stream where we catch up on our honourable sport, Angling. 'Angling should be the hobby of every nice guy', according to us!

We left the retreat centre prepared with our impromptu hook and fishing-lines, took along our camera too as no fun was to be missed out!

'The fishes seemed friendly today, you could tell from there splashing. Hopefully it'd be a bountiful day for us', remarked Michael jokingly, 'they must have been tired of living in that water'! And indeed what a good time we had!

We packed our tools and booty to get back to the camp before dinner was served. We opted to take the road and not the woods hoping for a hitchhike. But we got more than that!

A pregnant lady stood by herself by her broken down car, on the road as we walked up.

Noticing her heavy tummy we offered to help fix her car tyres. To which she answered; "it isn't the tyres thank you gentlemen, but the radiator suddenly overheated as I was driving down to the hospital in the city. While we talked, she held on to the door of the car and screamed like someone that had just seen a ghost. Still wondering what had gone wrong, looking around to be sure we weren't being set-up; we noticed water dripping from her body unto the floor.

Her water had broken! Then we perceived she was already in labour, and help must arrive fast!

Michael, my angling compatriot dashed for the Camp promising to return within fifteen minutes in order to fetch help while I stayed back with the lady.

Then I prayed. I asked the Lord, "Father please intervene"!

But He answered me and said, "I have already intervened by sending you so assist the woman"! "I know nothing about the labour ward, and none of my siblings was a nurse so how do I help her"?

I hadn't married by then.

"Do you remember the parable of the "Good Samaritan", the Lord asked?

"All she needs is your support and loving reassurance, after all you went out fishing, and she's also one of those to be fished in!

"So don't worry about being a midwife, everything will be just fine, you needn't be a doctor to be a vessel unto honour.

"It's no coincidence that you alone are here with her as there's been no vehicle or passer-by in the last thirty minutes"!

She screamed out louder again and I led her gently to the cushioned back seat of her car just in case the baby was ready to come out. It was as though the baby was waiting for us to get into position to usher her entrance into this world. Immediately the seat was laid; she again screamed out loud, and twisted my arm like a wild being! I was completely shaking like a leaf; as her screaming, the twisting, and her sweating got more intense. Out of nowhere with a cold and hard voice, she ordered me to help pull up the little baby whose's head had become visible on the seat.

The ambulance and other helps never arrived until five minutes later to meet the beautiful baby girl on the arms of her mother, still attached with the placenta uncut! What an unforgettable day! I thought I was going to be having a fine bachelor's fish meal after a long fasting God had other kind of fish ministry in mind. This reminds me of the story of Simon Peter in the scriptures.

If follows that we should be always be prepared to be vessels of honours unto God. Not necessarily with tactical abilities like seasoned Soldiers but our willingness and availability will do. For by this shall we reap the good of the Land.

Refer to: Isaiah 1:18-19 (Amplified Bible)

18Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool. 19If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land;

God Bless.
